Who we are
This website is operated by Datacop s.r.o.(“Datacop”, “we”, “us”), Bottova 2/A, 811 09 Bratislava, Slovakia. We are the data controller for personal data processed through this site. For any privacy question, contact us at security@datacop.services.
What data we collect
- Meeting requests. When you submit the “Request a meeting” form we collect the details you provide: whether you are an eCommerce brand, revenue range, website URL, the areas you'd like help with, your name, email and (optionally) phone number.
- Technical data. Like most websites, our hosting provider may process limited technical information (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver and secure the site.
- Academy accounts & access requests. When you sign in to the Datacop Academy we collect your email address (used to send the one-time sign-in code). When you request access to gated lectures we additionally collect the survey answers you provide: your company, your role, and why you want access.
- Usage analytics (first-party). We collect anonymous usage events on this site — pages and sections viewed, buttons clicked, and coarse location (country/city) — using our own infrastructure, with no third-party trackers. We do not store your IP address. By default these events carry only a random per-visit identifier that expires when you leave. If you accept cookies, a persistent random identifier is stored in your browser so we can recognise returning visits; it is removed if you later reject cookies.
How we use it
We use meeting-request details solely to review your enquiry and contact you to arrange an introductory call. The submission is delivered to our internal team via Slack. We do not sell your personal data.
The Datacop Academy
Parts of the Academy are open to everyone; some lectures require an account and an approved access request. We use your email address to send one-time sign-in codes and to notify you about the status of your request. We use your survey answers (company, role, reason for requesting access) to decide whether to grant access — the Academy's gated lectures are intended for people working at eCommerce companies, and we do not grant access to other agencies.
Emails.By requesting access you agree that we may email you when new lessons are published and, occasionally, about Datacop's services. Every such email includes a way to opt out, and you can also opt out at any time by writing to security@datacop.services. Transactional emails (sign-in codes, request-status notifications) are sent regardless, as they are necessary to provide the service. We also record delivery events for emails we send you (delivered, opened, clicked, bounced) to keep our sending reliable, and links in our emails are personalised so that when you click through to this site we can recognise the visit as yours.
Legal basis
We process meeting-request data on the basis of taking steps at your request prior to entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR). Academy accounts and access requests are processed to provide the service you asked for (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR); emails about new lessons and our services are sent on the basis of the agreement you give when requesting access, which you can withdraw at any time. Any non-essential cookies are used only with your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
Cookies & consent
We use a strictly necessary cookie to remember your cookie choice. We run our own first-party usage analytics (see above): anonymous and session-only by default, with a persistent random identifier stored only after you accept via the cookie banner. We load no third-party analytics or marketing trackers; if we ever introduce any, they will load only with your consent — the banner uses Google Consent Mode to keep such storage denied by default. You can change your choice at any time:
Sharing & processors
We share data only with service providers that help us operate the site and our business — for example our website host (Vercel), our internal messaging tool (Slack), Google Cloud (BigQuery), where our first-party usage analytics are stored, our email delivery provider (Resend, EU region) for Academy emails, and our database provider (Upstash) for Academy accounts and access requests. These providers process data on our behalf under appropriate agreements.
Retention
We keep meeting-request details for as long as necessary to handle your enquiry and any resulting relationship, after which they are deleted or anonymised.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and to data portability. You may also lodge a complaint with the Slovak Office for Personal Data Protection (Úrad na ochranu osobných údajov SR). To exercise any right, email security@datacop.services.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date above reflects the latest revision.
